Morro Bay estuary is a national and state treasure, whose health affects our health and the vibrancy of our community and economy. The Morro Bay National Estuary Program works to educate residents and visitors on how to keep Morro Bay clean and healthy. Public participation, combined with the best science available, is important for effectively preserving Morro Bay.
Nature Center
Thousands of tourists and residents visit the Estuary Nature Center every year where they can experience the beauty of the estuary and learn about protecting its sensitive habitats and wildlife. Admission to the Estuary Nature Center is free. Click here for directions, hours, and more information.
Targeted Education Efforts
The Estuary Program also provides educational materials for specific audiences providing practical tools to help them do their part to protect the estuary. Our State of the Bay Report, Clean Boating kit, Mutts for the Bay program, are all examples of these efforts. You can find these materials in our library.
